Allah (SWT) has stated in the Noble Qur'an: "I have not created the jinn and humankind for any other purpose except that they should worship Me." (Noble Qur'an 51:56)
It is evident from the above verse of the Noble Qur'an that the primary purpose of our existence is centered around the worship of Allah (SWT). In Islam, there are various forms of worship (Ibadah, Ibadat), and Salah is regarded as one of the fundamental obligatory acts.
Salah (Salat, Namaz) is the prescribed prayer performed by Muslims as an act of devotion to Allah (SWT). Typically denoting the five daily prayers, Salah (Salat, Namaz) is mandatory for all accountable Muslims. It is considered a pivotal form of worship in Islam, its significance demanding strict observance except under exceptional circumstances.
Salah (Salat, Namaz) serves to fortify the pillars of our faith, equipping individuals to lead a life marked by righteousness and submission to Allah (SWT), fostering resilience and resolve. With each Salah, we reaffirm our allegiance to Allah (SWT) and liberate ourselves from worldly pressures five times a day.
According to a Hadith, a companion of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) once inquired about what Allah (SWT) loves most. The Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) responded, "The most beloved action to Allah (SWT) is when His people offer Salah promptly."
Salah (Salat, Namaz) represents a tangible expression of compliance with the directives of Allah (SWT), its importance underscored approximately 500 times in the Noble Qur'an.
In a poignant incident, the Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) likened the sins of those who perform Salah to the falling leaves of a tree branch: just as the leaves shed off, so do the sins of those devoted to Salah.
Prior to Salah, Muslims perform Wudu, a distinctive cleansing ritual that purifies specific body parts, ensuring cleanliness before prostrating before the Creator; Allah (SWT).
With "Namaj Shikkha Bangla," this book serves as a resource enabling individuals to learn how to perform Salat (Namaj) in Bengali. The book's content originates from "Talim Us Salah."
